Fidele Wabenga is a refugee filmmaker and visual storyteller from the Great Lakes region of Africa, based in Kenya. With over 13 years of lived experience as a refugee, having lived and worked alongside displaced communities from diverse backgrounds in Kakuma Refugee Camp, he brings rare depth, authenticity, and trust to his storytelling.

Rooted in personal experience and guided by empathy, Fidele’s work focuses on refugee resilience, trauma healing, integration, and community-led solutions across Africa. Through documentary and narrative filmmaking, he amplifies the voices of displaced and marginalized communities, creating stories that restore dignity, inspire dialogue, and drive meaningful social transformation.
